Welcome to the Robert G. White Large Animal Research Station at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. LARS, as the station is referred to by Fairbanks locals, is located on a former homestead close to the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus at 2220 Yankovich Road.
LARS serves excellence in research and education in high-latitude biology and provides facilities for and expertise in maintaining colonies of large animals, coordinating educational opportunities, and conducting community outreach in support of the UAF mission.
We're having a PARTY!
Join us on May 30th from 12-5 to celebrate the animals! Park at Taku Lot on campus and take the shuttle bus out to LARS. Hot Licks will be scooping ice cream, Camp Habitat and the Fairbanks Children's Museum will have activities, and this is your only chance to adopt a limited-edition (stuffed) baby muskox! All proceeds benefit the Large Animal Research Station. We look forward to seeing you!
